Name: Chris Johnson Age: 19 City: Rincon Church: Grace Community Church Occupation: College Sophomore School/College: Georgia Southern University Future plans: To become a high school or college band director or music performer Favorite Christian singers/bands: Disciple, SteroeTythe Member of Sonlight since: June 2002 Favorite Bible verse: Romans 12:1 If you could be any Sesame St. character, which would you be and why? Cookie Monster, because he eats a lot of cookies -- like me :) Personal Quote: "Love everyone until they give you a reason not to, then forgive them and start over again." Testimony: I was playing in the yard one Friday and a van of friends came by and asked if I wanted to go to church with them. At the time, I was an atheist. I listed to Satan-worship music, dressed in all black, and bullied everyone in my path. Debating whether I should go or not, the sound of pizza and ice cream made up my mind. There a guy who was visiting the youth group invited me to go to his church. Hesitant, I said yes and attended a couple Sundays later. When I met the pastor, he invited me over to his house for a Newcomers meeting. There he revealed to me how vital Jesus was to my life. I thought about what I'd just heard, and realized what I'd been missing. That day I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior. If you received a million dollars (tax-free) today, what would you do with it? I would fix up my truck, expand my music ministry equipment, tithe a very large portion to my church, and put some in the bank for college (not in that order) Hobbies/Interests: I fish, I music, and I Jesus :) Favorite Sonlight song(s): Blessed Jesus Favorite thing about being in Sonlight/favorite Sonlight memory: My favorite memory would have to be when Shane nailed Becca in the face with the cake. :)
Name: Jay Collins Age: 22 City: Savannah Church: Central Baptist Church Occupation: I'm the heavy equipment parts guy at Low Country Machinery Future plans: To find a woman who will marry me (if there's one brave enough) Favorite Christian singers/bands: Squad 5-0, BL inside, P.O.D. Member of Sonlight since: April 2000 Favorite Bible verse: Proverbs 3:33 If you could be any Sesame St. character, which would you be and why? Grover the Superhero Personal Quote: "There comes a time when you must decide: Are you dying to life, or are you living to die?" Testimony: At age sixteen, I realized what life is really about -- that God gave us grace by saving us, and it's our duty and honor to tell others about Him. If you received a million dollars (tax-free) today, what would you do with it? I'd tithe and build a church with it, then buy the biggest truck with the biggest mud tires, then I'd buy Donnie some new clothes, my mom a 'vette, and my dad a couple thousand acres...and, aw, what the heck, let's have a party! Hobbies/Interests: Music! Favorite Sonlight song(s): Blessed Jesus and I Magnify Favorite thing about being in Sonlight/favorite Sonlight memory: Finding true friends that put God before themselves.
Name: Jennifer May Age: 20 City: Savannah Church: Chevis Oaks Baptist Church Occupation: College Sophomore School/College: Georgia Southern University Future plans: I'll be in college for a few years, but after that? Well, I'm still waiting on God's guidance! Favorite Christian singers/bands: Third Day, P.O.D., Joy Williams, Racheal Lampa Member of Sonlight since: August 2000 Favorite Bible verse: Psalms 63:7-8 If you could be any Sesame St. character, which would you be and why? Cookie Monster, because he can eat all the cookies he wants and never gain a pound! Personal Quote: "God can dream a bigger dream for you than you can dream for yourself!" Testimony: I was blessed to have been raised in a close Christian family and very supportive church family. I have always felt God's presence in my life and I know he has guided me every step of the way! He has allowed me to make some great decisions in my life and provided me with great opportunities like Sonlight. I'm not great at telling my testimony. All I can say is never doubt God because He WILL always be there and things will always work out for the best, even if you don't see it at the time. Everything happens for a reason. If you received a million dollars (tax-free) today, what would you do with it? If I got $1,000,000.00, I would definitely give at least 10% (tithes), because I would have never gotten a million dollars unless God had given it to me. Then I would probably give some to my parents because they have always been there when I needed them. Then, I would pay off any left over expenses from college. Next, I would probably get a nice little place to live, (nothing too extravagant or too far from home of course) and maybe a nice SUV. Then I would invest whatever's left and live off the interest. Hobbies/Interests: Singing, horseback riding, drawing, painting, shopping, and going to the movies with friends. Favorite Sonlight song(s): You are Holy, We Can Make a Difference, and Abba Favorite thing about being in Sonlight/favorite Sonlight memory: I love the closeness between all the members. We aren't just in a group together, but we're friends too! We always have fun together! My favorite memories would have to be white water rafting and of course, recording the CD!

It does not envy. It does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love." If you could be any Sesame St. character, which would you be and why? Snuffaluffagus' little sister, she's cute and "fluffy".
Personal Quote: He may not call the equipped but He will equip the called. Testimony: I was "saved" at a G.A. camp when I was the wee age of 10. But it was not until I was a little older that I truely understood what God meant to me and what I meant to Him. Ever since, I've tried to serve him as best I could. I know that I have made many mistakes and downfalls but God always seems to pick me up out of the mud and put me on my feet again. Then he gives me his grace to start all over and be the best Manda I can be. I have dabbled in a lot of ministries to try and do what He wills for me. I've taught Sunday School, sang in a few Christian groups, and even done a little acting and sign language. Whatever it is he calls me to, I know He will give me the strength and guidance to make it through. If you received a million dollars (tax-free) today, what would you do with it? Quit work! Then donate my money (and time) to Sonlight and church ministries. I would share my new found wealth with my family by building them houses close by me and I myself would build a house with Shane that we could raise a large family in.
Hobbies/Interests: Singing, shopping, Winnie-the-Pooh stuff, spending time with my family Favorite Sonlight song(s): I've got Joy, How Great Thou Art, She Doesn't Know Jesus Favorite thing about being in Sonlight/favorite Sonlight memory: Recording the "We Can Make a Difference CD" Before we recorded we all stayed in a beach house and played games. It was halarious. Donnie had to describe a Canary and said "Bird. Yellow Bird." It was just outright funny. Overall I just love it when we hang out. Sonlight members are my best friends and we have a blast just being us!

Name: Shane Sanders Age: 25 City: Rincon, GA Church: First Baptist of Pt. Wentworth Occupation: Registered Nurse Future plans: To continue to use God's gifts to the best of my ability Favorite Christian singers/bands: Gaither Vocal Band, Michael English, Newsong, Truth, David Phelps Member of Sonlight since: April 1995 Favorite Bible verse: Isaiah 40:31 "But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." If you could be any Sesame St. character, which would you be and why? Cookie Monster - even as a slob, he's still so lovable. Personal Quote: "Even when my troubles are over my head, they're still under His feet." Testimony: Although my testimony began several years ago when I was saved, it was not until hearing a concert by the Heavenbound Quartet about 10 years ago that I committed his life to music ministry--and I haven't looked back since! Even through critical illness in 1998-99, I continued to rejoice in the blessings of Christ's influence in my life. I sang to myself all the way down to the operating room and I knew God was hearing my song. Now with becoming a registered nurse, I feel like I can help other folks on their journey to both physical & spiritual health through my responsibilities at the hospital, and I also feel that I'm truly making a positive impact -- as obscure as it may seem sometimes -- in lives of people who desparately need to know the power of God's love & healing touch.. If you received a million dollars (tax-free) today, what would you do with it? I would start by, of course, contributing my tithe directly to Sonlight Ministries to make the ministry the best it could possibly be with better sound equipment, a bus in which to travel, and covering other expenses. Then, I want to start a free nursing clinic for low-income people to come receive health care services. On a personal level, I would like to open a few family restaurants, build a house, buy my family houses & cars, and possibly start my own Christian singing group, which would travel and virtually be my "full-time" job. Hobbies/Interests: Computers, Singing, Piano, Watching "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" Favorite Sonlight song(s): Midnight Cry, Right Now is the Right Time, One of These Days, and I've Got Joy Favorite thing about being in Sonlight/favorite Sonlight memory: Whenever I'm with Sonlight, all the worries of this worldly life seem to fade away.
